Letter N
Okay, back to breakfast cereals. As you've probably guessed, I am partial to nerds. Nerds Cereal was therefore a natural choice for N. I had trouble with this one at first because I couldn't find a clear image of a Nerds Cereal box. I finally found a magnet on E-bay.
Speaking of nerds, PEZ has released a limited edition Star Trek PEZ collector's series. I can't wait to buy it.

"Honor. Integrity. Leadership."
I like working with David Marc Fischer because he will occasionally challenge me to think beyond breakfast cereals. Last week, for example, he asked me to draw a portrait of Sarah Palin as a pit bull with lipstick. I thought a bit, and responded with this. David wanted me to add some more details, but since I don’t normally work electronically, this was the best I could do. David then consulted with designer Chris Orsi, who did the final piece (see above). Thanks, Chris!

Letter Y
I skipped ahead to Y because I am still thinking about how to draw X. Anyway, I used Yummy Mummy for Y. Yummy Mummy was the fruit-flavored variety of the General Mills monster-themed breakfast cereals. From what I can tell, Yummy Mummy was the reincarnation of the Fruit Brute, but it's not exactly clear to me. Here is a tell-all history of the monsters.
While searching for the Yummy Mummy commercial on Youtube, I also found these videos from doboramma.

Okay, on to the next project.
I've decided to illustrate an alphabet of breakfast cereals next. This is not actually my idea; I attended the SCBWI Illustrator's Conference this Spring, and I met an agent who suggested that I make this alphabet. I won't be able to sell this one because of the licensing issues, but it should still be a fun project. I am open to suggestions, so if anyone has a favorite cereal that they would like me to include please let me know. All I know for sure is that A will be Apple Jacks and B will be Boo Berry.

Letter D
At first I couldn't think of any breakfast cereals that start with D. Then I did some research, and remembered Dinky Donuts, Dino Pebbles, and Donkey Kong Junior Cereal. I ultimately went with Dino Pebbles . I drew this image from the original box. The pastel blobs are supposed to be dinosaur-shaped marshmallows.
