Private Possession of Obscene Material Permitted
In the case of Stanley v. Georgia, Justice Thurgood Mashall wrote "If the First Amendment means anything, it means that a State has no business telling a man, sitting in his own house, what books he may read or what films he may watch." Here is my illustration of that principle. The man reading is actually the National Library symbol. I think it works well here.

Just have to say... I love all these. You're doing some really great work and integrating symbols from various contexts in some really nice ways. And I like the explanations. What is the end goal for these? Are the explanations going to be part of the final "piece"?
Keep it up!

Thanks! I'm not sure yet what the final product will be. I'm toying with the idea of printing them as a pocket sized handbook, with the text underneath each sign. Kind of like a voter's handbook, I guess. Anyway, I'll see how it develops.
