Lichtenstein Show
I'm a big Lichtenstein fan, so I definitely plan to see the Roy Lichtenstein: Girls show at the Gagosian Gallery. The show runs through June 28.
I like the comic-strip paintings, but my favorite Lichtensteins are actually the brushstroke paintings (see below). In short, he did meticulous pop-art renderings of the abstract expressionist brush stroke. He discusses it here in this 1966 BBC interview (towards the bottom).
